The UA sponsored dragster is a 1967 Chevy 2 Pro Street, which is driven by fellow Union Brother Darryl Squires. Not only does this classic car look like a powerhouse but it has no problem backing up its tough appearance.
Under the hood Darryl has a small block 434 engine with a 14.5 : 1 Compression ratio, a 1090 cfm demon carb system, and 2 stages of nitrous (250 hp each). The car weighs close to 3200 lbs and makes aprox 850 hp naturally, however when using the nitrous this beast will produce well over 1250 hp.
Now that all of the engine specs have been laid out in front of you try and imagine this 3200lb machine travelling 0-60 feet in just 1.18 seconds. On the track it runs the quarter mile in 8.9 seconds at an average speed of 153 mph.
The race team dedicates time to spreading the word that racing is meant for the track and not the street. The car being older in addition to the vibrant flame paint job help draw lots of attention where ever they go, making it easier to inform people of all ages about the dangers of street racing.
