This Year s Golf charity event raised between $15,000 - $ 18,000 for the Spinal Cord Society. Wayne MacDonald Founded the Halton Chapter of this Charity and has been a dedicated volunteer since his unfortunate accident in Feb 1999. Wayne is well aware of the long road ahead in finding a cure for spinal cord injuries and even though he remains optimistic that a cure will be found in time, he realizes that it will not likely be in his lifetime. Wayne has come to accept this, yet he keeps fighting and is determined to be a part of the day when others can be cured of such injuries, so that they do not need to go through the same hardships and obstacles that he has had to endure. |

Wayne MacDonald was a 34 year old refrigeration journeyman living in Brampton when on Feb 8th 1999 his world and the world of all those around him would change forever. Wayne sustained head and back injuries in a workplace accident. Fortunately while in a coma he was able to battle any long term effects of the serious head injuries. What remained were the irreversible back injuries that made him a Paraplegic. He started writing for disability magazines about the many adventures of his new life. It is then that he came up with the idea of life stew. Life is ebb and tide, full of unknowns. The columns will allow readers an insight from the side of life that some will never experience. Enjoy. "Life rolls as the waves of the ocean. You control the waves, they do not control you." |
